Sustainability
Our Commitment to Sustainability 🌿
At Monkeyboards, we believe that performance and sustainability go hand in hand. As climbers, we rely on the natural world for adventure, challenge, and inspiration—so it’s only right that we protect it. That’s why we craft our hangboards with minimal environmental impact, using responsibly sourced materials and sustainable practices.
Sustainable & Certified Wood
We carefully select our materials, sourcing wood from suppliers who hold Chain of Custody (CoC) certification for the PEFC and Grown in Britain schemes. This ensures that our hardwood comes from responsibly managed forests that promote biodiversity and long-term sustainability.
Giving New Life to Offcuts
Some of our boards are crafted using offcuts from a local carpenter, reducing waste and making use of high-quality wood that might otherwise be discarded. This allows us to repurpose beautiful materials while supporting local craftsmanship.
Handcrafted, Not Mass-Produced
Every hangboard is made by hand, reducing the energy consumption and waste associated with mass production. Our process allows for precision, durability, and sustainability, ensuring each board is built to last—so you won’t need to replace it anytime soon.
A Tree for Every Hangboard 🌱 (Coming Soon!)
In the near future, we plan to plant a tree for every hangboard sold, giving back to the environment and ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the outdoors.
Our Ongoing Commitment
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for us—it’s a responsibility. We’re always looking for ways to improve our materials, reduce waste, and support conservation efforts. Choosing a Monkeyboards hangboard means you’re training with gear that respects the planet.
Together, we can climb higher and tread lighter. 🌍
