The Story Behind Our Limited Edition Purpleheart Hangboards

Sometimes, something special comes along completely by chance. That’s exactly how our Limited Edition Purpleheart hangboards came to be.

On a recent visit to a local timber yard, we spotted a small offcut of Purpleheart — a rare and stunning hardwood known for its rich, deep purple hue. We instantly knew it had the potential to become something incredible. But here’s the catch: there was just enough to make 10 micro portable hangboards. And when it’s gone — it’s truly gone.

To bring out the vibrant colour even further, we gave these boards a unique treatment: they were gently cooked in an oven for an hour. We don’t coat or treat our boards with chemicals or oils — we want to preserve the natural feel and grip of the wood that climbers love. The oven bake brought out that deep, bold purple in a way that keeps the surface pure and skin-friendly.

These hangboards are crazy exclusive — we don’t expect to come across Purpleheart like this again any time soon. And to make each board even more personal:
